Reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez has confirmed he will ride at this weekend's home Spanish Grand Prix, meanwhile Dani Pedrosa will not make a MotoGP return in front of his home Spanish fans at Jerez this weekend.
Marquez had a titanium plate inserted into his left little finger after suffering a displaced fracture when his hand was run over during a dirt-track training accident, last Saturday. Following a post-operation check-up, Dr. Xavier Mir provided a positive assessment of Marquez's chances and, after a further check this afternoon, the 22-year-old was given the green light.
"Today I underwent another examination by Dr. Mir, and he confirmed that the wound is healing well and looking good,” said Marquez. “He took off the cast that they had put on and now I have begun to do some physiotherapy work with some active and passive movements.
Otherwise Pedrosa, Marquez team mates were already missed two races in the United States and Argentina because he was injured arm-pump operation.

Previously Honda's boss Livio Suppo expressed optimism that Pedrosa will be fit to race in Jerez. But apparently Pedrosa was not fit very well and aim at the next race in Le Mans, France.
The Spaniard tested his post-surgery fitness on a Supermoto bike yesterday, but: "Even though at first it felt OK, after riding my forearm still did not feel 100%.
"I know that if I do a whole race weekend it will be much worse, and the last thing I want is to create another big problem."
"So it has been a very difficult decision to make, but I think the best is to wait a while longer, go ahead with the rehabilitation and be back in Le Mans.”
Hiroshi Aoyama will still take the place of Pedrosa at Jerez.
"I'm sorry for Dani that he is not able to return to racing this weekend at his home grand prix," Aoyama said. "Honda have asked me to substitute for him again and it's an honour to do so."
